Leitch School Needs You! This is a list of the various committees you can join to take an active part in the decision making at Leitch. We value parent input in our efforts to do what’s best for students. Open Leitch Committee Volunteer Sign-up Sheet
- School Site Safety Committee is for those interested in school wide safety issues such as emergency response procedures at Leitch, revising and monitoring our comprehensive school site safety plan as required by the State, and other topics related to student safety.
Meets 4 afternoons/year.
- English Language Learner and Race Relations Committee oversees the instruction and funding for our students learning English as a second language and multicultural education and equity.
Meets 4 afternoons/year.
- Technology Committee is for anyone interested in helping with the school’s technology needs and monitoring our site technology plan and budget. No technology expertise required. We have plenty of additional needs for those interested in fundraising, grant writing, and more. Meets once/month in the evening.
- Noon Duty Supervisors help students stay safe and happy at lunch time. These are paid positions. If interested, call school office.
- Valet Volunteers help students stay safe during drop-off and pick-up before and after school. We especially need help with after school valet. If you want to help AND you are not using Valet AND you are picking up your own children, you can still help. Your children may sit next to the others who are waiting to be picked-up from valet. Call the school office at 657-6100 for more info.
- Library Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteers are always needed in the Leitch Library to help shelve the hundreds of books returned every week. Please contact, Lisa Blizel at 657-6100 x44110, or e-mail her at lblizel@fremont.k12.ca.us
- The Library Committee discusses our site library plan, district library plan, book selection, student literacy motivation and more. Meets 3 afternoons/year.

- Form - Declaration of Parent/Volunteer Driver of FUSD Students
If you plan to volunteer as a driver for school field trips, please open, print, fill out this form and return to the school’s office. It will be kept on file for the full school year.
- School Site Council is a decision making team. The team monitors our Single Plan for Pupil Achievement and School Improvement Plan Funding. This council is for those interested in learning more about the various committees, curriculum, staff development, programs and events. Council member positions are parent elected positions and meets monthly in afternoon. Requires a 2 year commitment. Check with the school office for availability of positions.
