PTO Supported Ongoing Programs & Committees

  • FAME (Fine Arts Mini Experience) - FAME is a program that introduces all the students to famous artists and composers through professionally prepared lessons which are fun, informative and entertaining. There are six different lessons taught each year for six years.  All lessons are 30 minutes (15 or art, 15 for music) and are taught by parent volunteers. Throughout your child’s elementary years, they will learn about 36 different artists and their works of art and 26 composers and pieces of their music.

  • Music For Minors II Program - This is a nonprofit music program that has provided music enrichment in Fremont elementary schools since 1988. We have had this program for 2 years. The goal is to nurture a love of music in children through their participation and enjoyment with rhythm, games, songs, dance and instrument exposure.  Until Fremont schools have adequate funding to provide a music specialist for all our children, this program is a great substitute.  Scientific studies continue to support the value of music and its impact on learning since it integrates both hemispheres of the brain.  Teachers report that students become more confident, cooperative and successful in reading and math because of their exposure to music.

  • Expressions Program - This is a an arts recognition and achievement program for students.  It provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.

  • Earthquake Preparedness - A program which purchases and maintains disaster supplies such as portable toilets and space blankets.

  • Committees - The PTO is organized into various committees to provide a variety of programs for our school community. Parent volunteers form the core of these committees.  The PTO welcomes your interest and support in our activities. Your participation is essential to the success of our activities and we invite you to join in any of these committees and experience the rewards of enriching and enhancing our children's educational experience. Please contact the school for more information.
